UK pay-television broadcaster BT Sport has launched a new ‘red button’ service that will enable customers to access additional content.
BT Sport Extra will be available at select times and will feature live coverage of various sports events. Content that will feature on the service includes the French Ligue 1 and German Bundesliga top-tier club football competitions.
BT Sport Extra will be automatically included within viewers’ existing BT Sport pack.
The service is currently available to customers of pay-television operator BSkyB and BT TV. It will be opened up to pay-television operator Virgin Media in the coming weeks.
BT Sport Extra opened with Bordeaux’s 2-1 Ligue 1 win over Evian on Friday evening.
