Barbados Tridents take flight with JetBlue Airways

Caribbean Premier League Twenty20 cricket team Barbados Tridents have reached a deal to make US carrier JetBlue Airways its official airline.

Under the agreement, the terms of which were not disclosed, JetBlue’s logo will feature on the Tridents’ playing jerseys for the remainder of CPL 2014.

The Tridents, captained by West Indies star Kieron Pollard, made the semi-finals in last year’s competition and this week embark on a run of three consecutive home matches against St Lucia Zouks, Antigua Hawksbills and Guyana Amazon Warriors.

Robin Hayes president of JetBlue said: “Excitement for the CPL in the Caribbean is at a similar level to excitement for the NFL or Major League Baseball in the United States. Barbados is one of our most popular destinations in the region, and given JetBlue’s commitment to the destination it made perfect sense to get on board with the Tridents.”
