Altice makes further managerial changes

Multinational telecommunications company Altice has made further changes to its senior management team by unveiling a new international media and content organisation.

Led by chief executive Alain Weill, the six-person panel includes the appointment of Nicolas Rotkoff as head of channels distribution and sport rights acquisition. Damien Bernet has been appointed deputy chief executive, while Bernard Mourad becomes head of business development.

Weill (pictured) said that through the new organisation, Altice would continue its sport rights acquisitions. He added: “Altice media and content strategy will continue to be focused in our main territories, especially in France, the US, Portugal and Israel.”

Altice last month reshuffled its senior management team, with Dexter Goei replacing Patrick Drahi as president. Altice, which has a significant presence in the sports media market, announced the reorganisation of its group management structure ahead of the closing of the acquisition of US cable-television provider Cablevision by its Altice USA division.

Goei was appointed chairman and chief executive of Altice USA. He stepped down as chief executive of Altice in order to focus his leadership on the successful integration of Cablevision and US cable broadband provider Suddenlink within Altice and the further development of Altice USA. Goei also replaced Drahi as president of Altice and continues to lead the company’s global mergers and acquisitions-related activities.

As founder and controlling shareholder of Altice, Drahi will continue to set out the strategic, operational and technological agenda for the group. To this effect, Drahi now leads the newly formed Altice Group Advisory Council. Michel Combes was appointed chief executive of Altice having previously served as chief operating officer.
