Samsung backs Nigerian football

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has agreed a three-year sponsorship deal with Samsung.

The agreement sees Samsung become the official electronics partner of Nigeria’s national teams and furthers the company’s presence in football on the continent, where it already enjoys a relationship with the Confederation of African Football. Financial details have not been revealed.

Idorenyen Enang, managing director of Samsung Nigeria, told Business Day: “Nigeria, no doubt, is one of the football giants on the continent of Africa. Through our sponsorship, Samsung will connect with loyal and dedicated football fans and will ensure they enjoy the game.”

Enang continued: “We look forward to working with the NFF across a range of initiatives that we have planned. These initiatives are driven by commitment that works and we are committed to achieving what we set our mind to achieve. That is our heritage.”

Mike Itemuagbor, chairman of the NFF’s marketing consultants Pamodzi Nigeria, added: “We are excited about our partnership with Samsung. It is a partnership that will further reinforce the exposure of the game.”
