As the official performance partner of the ARU, Castrol will support the Qantas Wallabies from the July 17 clash against Samoa – the opening match of the season. The contest will be called ‘The Castrol Edge Rugby Test’ and Australia’s following game against South Africa on July 23 will be tagged as ‘The Castrol Edge Tri Nations’ clash.
“We are absolutely delighted that Castrol, already a partner of ours for the past two years, has decided to significantly increase its commitment to the game from 2011 to 2014,” said ARU managing director and CEO John O’Neill. Australia is gearing up to compete at the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand later this year.
O’Neill added: “We have announced a new slogan – One Team 2011 – designed to unite the nation behind the Qantas Wallabies before they head to New Zealand for the ultimate campaign in September and October. At the ARU we are delighted Castrol is on board not only for the One Team journey, but for a number of seasons beyond this year.”
Castrol general manager Brett Davis continued: “We are very much looking forward to working together and supporting the game through that focus on ‘strength to perform’. It is synonymous with what Castrol Edge stands for within our industry. The Qantas Wallabies know the importance of mental, physical and emotional strength – strength of character to give you the edge.”
