Sony tips off Euroleague Final Four sponsorship

Euroleague Basketball has recruited Sony as an official sponsor of this year’s Turkish Airlines Final Four tournament, which will start in Barcelona later today and run through to Sunday.

Sony has been signed up as the official provider of technical equipment, including televisions and computers. To activate the partnership, four of the tournament’s stars have been on hand to showcase Sony’s new Bloggie 3D camera.

Maccabi Tel Aviv ace Doron Perkins, Pietro Aradori of Montepaschi Siena, Panathinaikos Athens’ Drew Nicholas and Sergio Rodriguez of Real Madrid are using the new gadgets to share their experiences with the fans throughout the Final Four championship.

“We take part in a competition in which elements like awesomeness and entertainment, core characteristics of Sony’s DNA, merge with great universal values such as effort, competitiveness, fair play and perseverance,” said Sony Iberia marketing director Jordi Vila.

Euroleague Basketball president and CEO Jordi Bertomeu added: “We are happy to welcome Sony to the Euroleague family and are sure we will provide Sony with an excellent platform to further increase their prestigious brand identity.”
