The Expo aims to build on the strong feedback from last year’s conference programme and, as an extension to the content and learning opportunities, will include a series of master class workshops. The workshops will run alongside the main plenary sessions with a focus on supporting the professional game on day one and grass roots on day two.
Paul Vaughan, business operations director of the Rugby Football Union (RFU) and recently appointed CEO of England’s 2015 Rugby World Cup, said: “The event is the single largest business to business event in the world of rugby and as we build towards the next World Cup in 2015 there will be increased opportunities for growing the sport in terms of its commercial success, participation and general interest that comes from hosting a major sporting event like the Rugby World Cup.”
He continued: “The event provides the perfect platform to bring together the key decision makers in the sport, the international unions, the professional and grass roots clubs from both codes and the biggest suppliers to meet, network and build on these opportunities.”
John Hockey, chairman of Rugby Ventures, the team behind Rugby Expo, added: “We have very ambitious plans for the event and we had to find a venue that could deliver this vision. Twickenham was viewed by all our key partners as the right venue for Rugby Expo.”
