It is the first time since the creation of the inaugural SportAccord Convention in 2003 that all of the top-tier sponsors have remained in place in consecutive years. Contemporary Group, GL events, IEC in Sports, Macau Sports Development Board and Sport Event Denmark have all renewed their gold sponsor agreements for the ninth edition of the Convention, which will take place from April 3-8, 2011 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel.
"To have all our gold sponsors from Dubai 2010 back with us again in London is extremely gratifying," said Anna Hellman, executive director of the SportAccord Convention. "This demonstration of confidence not only reflects well on the quality of our event, it underlines the commitment of these companies to the sport movement which the SportAccord Convention was created to serve."
This year's gathering in London will mark the eighth consecutive SportAccord Convention with IEC in Sports as a gold sponsor. GL Events and Contemporary Group have been gold sponsors for seven editions and Macau for four. Sport Event Denmark has consistently upgraded its sponsorship over the years after starting off as a bronze sponsor in 2007 and upgrading to silver in 2008.
