Power Balance will replace Arco, which is ending a 25-year relationship with the organisation on March 1. Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed, but the previous deal with Arco was worth $750,000 per year, according to the Sacramento Bee.
David Beckham of the Los Angeles Galaxy and New York Yankees ace Alex Rodriguez have been spotted wearing Power Balance bracelets. The California-based company, which also produces pendants, recently secured the CNBC ‘Sports Product of the Year’ award for 2010.
“Our intention with Power Balance was to establish a partnership that would raise the bar for traditional naming rights deals,” said Matina Kolokotronis, the Kings’ president of business operations. “We understood their desire to create a broad platform for extending the Power Balance brand and delivering great products and brand experiences to Kings fans and beyond.”
The soon-to-be-named Power Balance Pavilion, which opened in 1988, will stage nearly 200 events and serve nearly two million guests this year.
