The kitchen appliance manufacturer, which is already a major sponsor of the ITTF, will support the tournament at the Wayville Sports Centre in the Australian city of Adelaide from July 20-22, with the winner securing the right to be the representative for Oceania at the Liebherr Men’s World Cup.
Fox Sports in Australia will be the host broadcaster for the event, with the ITTF’s marketing partner, TMS, having negotiated the sponsorship and media deals.
“For the first time an important Oceania event has a title sponsor that is recognised as an international company – and not just any sponsor but one of the major sponsors of the ITTF,” said Patrick Gillmann, the president of the Oceania Table Tennis Federation.
TMS international managing director Anders Thunström added: “We are confident, with Liebherr on board and with Fox Sports Australia as host broadcaster for the event, we can deliver great brand values for Liebherr."
