Under the terms of the deal with Sunset+Vine, Eurosport 2 will have the exclusive broadcast rights for the two competitions within Europe. The 2011 FIS Snowboarding World Championships will be held in La Molina, Spain, from January 15-23, just days before the 2011 FIS Freestyle Skiing World Championships take place from January 31 to February 5 in Deer Valley, USA.
The pan-European broadcaster will send two on-site crews to capture interviews and reports to complement the live competition action, with all events also set to be aired via Eurosport Player's new online channel at www.eurosportplayer.com.
Over the course of the 2010-11 winter sports season, Eurosport will offer live coverage of a total of 14 World Championships, eight World Cups and three European Championships across numerous disciplines, including Alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, curling, figure skating, freestyle skating, ice hockey, luge, Nordic combined skiing, ski jumping, snowboarding and speed skating.
Eurosport 2 also has the exclusive broadcast rights within Europe to cover the Winter Dew Tour, which features snowboarding and freestyle skiing events.
