Edgbaston bowled over by Keith Prowse hospitality deal

Leading event hospitality services provider Keith Prowse has sealed a deal to install a full range of facilities at Edgbaston as part of a £32 million revamp at the famous English cricket ground.

Redevelopment work at the Birmingham venue, which regularly hosts Test matches as well as Warwickshire County Cricket Club home games, is due to be completed ahead of the 2011 season. As part of the project, Keith Prowse will bring the Jaguar Club, The 1882 Club, Superboxes and The Edgbaston Suite to a new Pavilion Stand, helping to increase the capacity of the ground to 25,000.

The new state-of-the-art hospitality sections will join the existing Aylesford Private Boxes, Marston’s Suite, Executive Club and Lower Wyatt Suite. “The redevelopment will keep Edgbaston on a par with the world’s greatest cricket grounds, and by partnering with Keith Prowse we can ensure the venue continues to be attractive for corporate involvement,” said Warwickshire County Cricket Club commercial director James McLaughlin.

Keith Prowse is already the official hospitality provider to other English Test cricket grounds such as the Brit Insurance Oval and Lord’s in London, as well as leading events including the Wimbledon Championships and international rugby at Twickenham.

Andrew Hodgkins, Keith Prowse’s managing director, added: “We are thrilled at this opportunity to position Edgbaston, which is renowned in cricket for its feel-good factor, as an entertaining hub for the Midlands. Companies can use sport to bring people together to discuss business in an exhilarating but unrushed environment, and cricket in particular offers a great opportunity to enjoy valuable face to face time.”
