The agreement will see IMG Media look after all global media and sponsor agreements for the Championships, which is the pinnacle event of the TTR Snowboarding World Tour and the World Snowboard Federation.
The event in February 2012 is expected to attract 240 snowboarders from 35 nations, with half pipe, quarter pipe and slope style events on show.
"We believe this is a key sport in helping broadcasters and brands to connect with the youth demographic," said IMG marketing director Adam Kelly. "There is no finer example of this high quality content than the TTR World Tour and the World Snowboarding Championships in Oslo 2012."
New competition venues for the event in Tryvann Vinterpark have been approved by the Norwegian government and construction work has already begun at several sites.
