The local referees had reportedly given a deadline of midday yesterday for all 42 clubs in the Premier League and the Scottish Football League to back their integrity.
But the Scottish Football Association confirmed it reached an agreement with “several European national associations” – Portugal, Malta, Luxemburg and Poland known to be some that will provide FIFA-listed or category one referees.
“Negotiations are continuing with other national associations to help ensure that some, if not all, matches in the Scottish Football League go ahead as normal,” read a statement by the Scottish FA.
Lower league clubs will be informed by 3pm today whether their matches will go ahead or not depending on the outcome of the negotiations.
