Bob Mitchell named 2010’s most influential sports lawyer

Bob Mitchell, Partner at London-based Harbottle & Lewis, has been named 2010's most influential lawyer in the sports industry by SportBusiness International magazine.

Mitchell is a central figure in British football due to his involvement in securing three recent notable sponsorship deals. His vast experience in the sector was put to use in his role in the teams that negotiated Barclays’ renewal of its sponsorship of the Premier League, Standard Chartered Bank’s shirt sponsorship of Liverpool and npower’s sponsorship of the Football League.

In addition Mitchell has been a key player in drafting a number of sponsorship deals for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Luca Ferrari, Partner at CBA Studio Legale e Tributario was named second most influential lawyer in sport for his work overseeing Serie B’s split from Serie A and its subsequent sponsorship to become the Serie Bwin. Sam Rush, International Chief Operating Officer at Wasserman Media Group, was named third.
