Virgin Atlantic flies NFL teams to London game

Virgin Atlantic Airways has signed a deal to become UK sponsor and official airline of the National Football League (NFL) International Series game involving the San Francisco 49ers and the Denver Broncos, to take place at the Wembley Stadium, in London next Sunday.

Official airline of the series for the second consecutive year, Virgin Atlantic extended its involvement by becoming a UK sponsor, which includes the right to offer Flying Club members the chance to win tickets to a 49ers home game and the Super Bowl.

“We are delighted to be working once again with Virgin Atlantic as we continue to build on the success of our previous International Series games in the UK and expand our portfolio of UK sponsors,” said NFL UK commercial director Marc Armstrong.

“Virgin Atlantic is a powerful brand on both sides of the Atlantic and, with this extended relationship, is the perfect partner for the NFL as we continue to grow our presence and fan base internationally.”

A fourth company is to be announced soon as a UK sponsor, joining Virgin Atlantic, Coors Light and Marriott. Pepsi Max is the title sponsor of the International Series, while Canon, Reebok and Visa are associate sponsors.
