ESPN names new vice president for international development

ESPN International has appointed Rob Simmelkjaer as vice president, international development, reporting to Russell Wolff, executive vice president and managing director.

Simmelkjaer will add responsibilities to his previous position as vice president, corporate projects, by coordinating the exploration of multi-regional opportunities.

“Rob brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this role, having been involved with our company across multiple disciplines,” said Wolff

“That range of experience and insight to the multiple facets of our business will prove valuable as he helps us continue to grow around the world by identifying, evaluating and enhancing opportunities for ESPN International.”

A Dartmouth College and Harvard Law School graduate, Simmelkjaer joined ESPN in 2002 and has held on-air roles as well as the positions of director of programming and acquisitions, and vice president, assistant to the president George Bodenheimer.
