News-owned US network Fox has sold 90 per cent of advertising around its post-season Major League Baseball matches.
Fox will air the National League Championship Series playoffs and World Series starting on October 16 and October 27 respectively.
According to Bloomberg, Fox is charging $225,000 for a half-minute ad in the playoffs and $450,000 for 30 seconds during the World Series. The rates are understood to be up 8 per cent on last year.
Fox said it is between 25 and 30 per cent ahead of ad sales in 2008 and double that of 2009 if it stays on the current pace of ad sales.
