Both clubs, owned by English businessman Steve Hayes, believe that moving out of their current ground at Adams Park, just four miles away from the new site, a building a stadium for 17,500 to 20,000 people will ease Wanderers’ reliance on Hayes’ finances and make Wasps more competitive.
According to the BBC, Chris Thomas, who has been confirmed as the chief executive officer for both clubs after holding the position on an interim basis since April, wants to have “strong commercial teams in place”.
“This is vital in enabling us to establish the long-term financial stability that ensures we can continue to invest in both the London Wasps and Wycombe Wanderers teams whilst striving to upgrade our facilities and service levels for our supporters.”
Wycombe District Council is performing a public consultation on the proposals for the new venue.
