France 2007 World Cup CEO to speak at Rugby Expo

Etienne Thobois, chief executive of the 2007 Rugby World Cup in France, is to speak at this year’s Rugby Expo conference and exhibition at the RHS Lawrence Hall, Westminster.

The former Olympian played a pivotal role in the success of an event that made a €35-million profit and attracted over four billion television viewers.

Thobois was recently an advisor to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in Singapore and part of the IOC evaluation committee assessing the cities bidding to host the 2016 Olympics.

He joins a Rugby Expo line up that already includes Dan Lyle (Director of Tournaments, USA Sevens), Mark Evans (CEO of Harlequins RFC), Mike Lee (Vero Communications) and Paul Kimberley (Commercial Director at the RFL).

Rugby Expo 2010 will bring together professional and grass roots clubs, leagues, national associations, international federations, major brands, broadcasters, player representatives and key suppliers on November 9 and 10, during the second week of the northern hemisphere autumn internationals.

More information about the event, the complete conference programme, exhibition opportunities and delegate details are available at www.rugbyexpo.com or by calling +44 (0)845 0740752.
