According to a January poll by the Q Scores Company, 24 per cent of the interviewed liked him – way above the average 15-per-cent positive score for sports personalities – and 22 per cent had a negative opinion.
But after ‘The Decision’ show live on ESPN, a poll taken by Q Scores found that now only 14 per cent see him in a good light, compared to 39 per cent who have a negative view.
“Instead of his change to the Heat being seen as the best way he can win a championship, many have looked at it and how he chose to announce it as a selfish move,” Q Scores executive vice president Henry Schafer told US broadcaster CNBC.
James is the sixth-most disliked sports personality in the US behind American football quarterback Michael Vick, golf player Tiger Woods, American football wide receivers Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco and NBA champion Kobe Bryant.
