According to Broadband TV News, the agreement is for one year with the possibility of an extension up to March 2014. The two parties will spend over $3 million on creating and developing the channel in the first year.
NTV-Plus was the first company to launch HD channels in Russia three years ago. It has shown both the Champions League final and games from this year’s World Cup in 3D.
The Moscow-based cable operator Akado is also understood to be preparing to launch a 3D channel.
