The NFF has been dogged by problems since the country's dismal performance at the World Cup in South Africa. Former President Sani Lulu and his deputy were both impeached by the board and regional FA elections which were meant to be held in the country before the national elections have still not taken place.
A statement by the Chairman of the Communiqué Drafting Committee of the NFF Barrister Chris Green, who is also the Chairman of Rivers State football Association, said : "The Assembly resolves that the elective assembly of the NFF be re-convened on Wednesday, 25th August and the election into the Executive Committee of the NFF will be held on Thursday, 26th August 2010.”
FIFA observer Primo Corvaro, who was in Abuja to monitor the proceedings, has said FIFA are happy all rules have been adhered to.
