Leaders in Football to host private rugby workshop

Business event Leaders in Football has announced it will be hosting an exclusive workshop, ‘The Rugby Challenge: Competing with Football’, on October 7 following a consultation process with senior executives in the world of rugby.

The private closed session, away from the media and with no suppliers or agencies in the room, will discuss the commercial challenges facing rugby. Hosted by Kevin Payne, President and CEO of Major League Soccer side DC United, the workshop will also discuss the challenges associated with being a ‘minority’ sport and how MLS clubs are competing to win the eyeballs of sports fans dominated by the might of the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB.

A selection of names already confirmed for the workshop include: Tony Colquitt (CEO, St Helens Rugby League Football Club), Mark Evans (CEO, Harlequins RFC), John Feehan (CEO, 6 Nations and British & Irish Lions) and Peter Wheeler (Chief Executive, Leicester Tigers RFC).

Leaders in Football takes place at Chelsea FC on October 6 and 7 2010. To learn more about the rugby workshop or Leaders in Football ring +44 (0) 208 545 1595 or email enquiry@leadersinfootball.com
