Harvick had been expected to leave RCR this year but, after a strong start to the season, signed a new contract in May.The news is a boost for the driver - whose current sponsor Shell-Pennzoil ended its relationship with his team this year.
Commenting on the decision to back Harvick, Mark Wright, Anheuser-Busch VP of media, sports and entertainment marketing said: "We're really looking forward to trying to connect Budweiser to some new fans out there. We wanted a guy with a proven track record, which Kevin has, a driver with the kind of personality and charisma that Budweiser was looking for. Couple that with Richard Childress and what he means to the sport and what his organisation can bring in terms of winning and that's what we were looking for."
The Budweiser deal starts in 2011 and means that the brand will be on Harvick's car in the majority of points races and two exhibition events. It also continues a relationship between Bud and NASCAR that stretches back decades.
