Arsenal and MP & Silva in multi-platform content partnership

English Premier League club Arsenal and international sports media agency MP & Silva have agreed a six-year deal to co-produce the club’s official international television programming and multi-platform content for Arsenal Media (formerly Arsenal TV).

The agreement is an extension of the content acquisition deal signed last June between the club’s digital arm, Arsenal Broadband Ltd., and the agency. MP & Silva will continue to distribute to distribute Arsenal’s programming outside of the UK and Ireland.

“In MP & Silva we have found a partner with the same international ambitions as our own and with an exceptional track record within the world of sports media,” said Arsenal Broadband Ltd general manager Michael Leavey.

MP & Silva group CEO Andrea Radrizzani added that the “new Arsenal Media brand reflects the paradigm shift from a traditional television-centric approach, to one that is focused on creating broader, multi-platform content and programme formats that can be effectively delivered and re-appropriated across different broadcast and media channels.”

A new feature of Arsenal programming starting from the 2010-11 season will be the Arsenal World, a series of new formats to support delayed match coverage based on interviews with and real-life details from the club’s stars.
