Jordaan will speak on day one of the conference which will focus specifically on the merits of - and challenges facing - each nation bidding to become hosts of the World Cup in 2018 and 2022. The former politician will discuss the lessons learnt from the South Africa tournament and give an insight into what it is really like to host the world’s greatest sporting event.
Jordaan was elected CEO of the South African Football Association in 1997 and since then has worked tirelessly to promote the sport of football in his country as well as promote the country to the world. He has served FIFA in numerous capacities, including, as a General Co-ordinator for the Youth World Cup (now FIFA U-20 World Cup), 2001 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Korea/Japan. He was also a match commissioner for the 2006 FIFA World Cup and a member of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Organising Committee.
