Munich 2018 reveals board of directors

The Munich bid to host the Winter Olympic Games in 2018 has announced its new Board of Directors, including three new additions to the bid team.

Weinberger’s background is with auditing and financial services company Deloitte, an official supporter of Munich’s bid.

“Munich 2018 is proud to have recruited such a first-class team,” said Munich 2018 Bid Committee CEO Willy Bogner. “They all come with excellent reputations and proven success in a variety of backgrounds. Most importantly, they share my belief that the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Munich in 2018 would be the most athlete-friendly, the most Olympic family-friendly, and the most future-friendly Games in history.”

Last month the International Olympic Committee executive board accepted all three applicant cities – additionally Annecy (France) and Pyeongchang (South Korea) - as official bid cities for the 2018 Games. Each will have to submit detailed bid proposals to the IOC by January 11 2011, who will select the 2018 host by secret ballot at its session in Durban, South Africa, on July 6 2011.
