Eurosport makes top-level team changes

Laurent-Eric Le Lay, chairman and CEO of pan-regional sports broadcaster Eurosport, announced yesterday a batch of new appointments to the Management Steering Committee of the TF1-owned channel.

Jean-Thierry Augustin extended his current responsibilities to include the directorship of rights acquisitions as managing director of distribution, development and rights acquisitions.

Géraldine Filiol, deputy managing director and head of the Eurosport Events division, will continue to lead negotiations of acquisitions through the EBU, as well as negotiations for certain major rights, notably tennis.

Reporting to Jean-Thierry Augustin, Laurent Prud’homme has been appointed director of rights acquisitions. Prud’homme has also been appointed as a member of the Management Steering Committee.

There are also changes to the management of Eurosport’s TV channels with Arnaud Simon appointed deputy managing director of Eurosport France. Simon has held the role of Eurosport International and Eurosport 2 broadcast director since 2007.

Julien Bergeaud, currently director of rights acquisitions, has been appointed to become the new broadcast director for Eurosport International and Eurosport 2.

Patrick Goddet, deputy managing director of Eurosport France since 2004, becomes deputy managing director in office of the chairman; a wide-ranging role concentrating on international development.
