KPMG made official RWC 2011 supplier

Rugby World Cup Limited (RWCL) has appointed professional services provider KPMG as its Official Tournament Supplier of accounting and tax advisory services for Rugby World Cup 2011 in New Zealand.

KPMG - which joins Emirates Airline, MasterCard, Heineken and ANZ as a worldwide partner of the event - has a close association with rugby in New Zealand having worked with the New Zealand Rugby Union for over a decade and Rugby New Zealand (RNZ) 2011 Limited since its establishment in 2006.

“KPMG has considerable experience and expertise across the global accountancy and tax spectrum and has excellent Rugby knowledge and we are looking forward to continuing our strong partnership with the firm over the next year and a half,” said RWCL managing director Mike Miller.

KPMG Chief Executive Jan Dawson added: “Rugby World Cup 2011 is a unique opportunity to showcase New Zealand to the world and a catalyst for significant economic growth in the same way that we experienced with the America’s Cup.

“Our selection as one of the team of Official Suppliers reflects our commitment to helping New Zealand optimise the return from this iconic event. We are strongly encouraging support from our clients, our staff and our alumni in New Zealand and overseas.”
