Euroleague posts strong TV audiences for Final

The title match of the 2010 Euroleague Basketball tournament has reported strong television audiences in the home countries of the finalists.

Spain, home to winners Regal FC Barcelona, saw 1.2 million tune in on nationwide channel Teledeporte, while another 891,000 watched on Catalonian regional channel TV3. Teledeporte's share during match was 6.5 per cent, while TV3's was 26.9 per cent.

In Greece, home to beaten Olympiacos Pireaus, 1.04 million watched on Skai, a share of 21.9 per cent.

“The Final Four is not only competitive basketball, but competitive television, thanks to enhancements of the Final Four production in quality and contents since 2006 in Prague,” said Euroleague Basketball's Director of TV Andrea Bassani. “We also see Euroleague Basketball becoming more competitive as television entertainment on a season-long basis, too.”

This year's Final Four was broadcast in 197 countries, its best coverage ever.
