Bolt and Xiang at Shanghai Diamond League meet

Jamaican sprint star Usain Bolt will return to China for the first time since the 2008 Olympics for the Shanghai meeting on May 23 of the new Diamond League athletics series.

Bolt will race in the 200metres, in which he is the current world record-holder.

Chinese hurdler Liu Xiang, one of the country's biggest sports stars, will also appear at the event, the International Association of Athletics Federations said in statement yesterday, as reported by Reuters.

The Diamond League this year replaces the Golden League as the top-tier, “regular season” of athletics meets, organised jointly by the International Athletics Federation (IAAF) and the meets.
