“We have already achieved a lot together and I am convinced we have many more things to do in the future,” said the Frenchman, who took over in March 2007.
One of the areas he identified as still in need of progress is the restriction to international transfers of players under the age of 18.
Platini also urged the representatives of both host countries of Euro 2012, Ukraine's Grigoriy Surkis and Poland’s Grzegorz Lato, to “step up their efforts”.
“Mr Surkis, Mr Lato it is imperative that you steer a steady course as you approach the final straight. I believe in you, we believe in you.”
Preparations in both nations, and especially in Ukraine, have been hit by lack of funding, a harsh winter and political difficulties.
