Man Utd to freeze ticket prices

English Premier League club Manchester United has confirmed ticket prices will remain priced between £27 to £49 for the 2010-11 season.

United’s owners, the American Glazer family, have been criticised for increasing prices since their takeover in 2005, and United was the only Premier League club to increase their season-ticket prices for the 2009-10 season.

The announcement that prices will be kept on hold contradicts recent speculation of further rises, which are one of the main points of criticism from the recent Green and Gold campaign for a change of ownership.

“This clearly demonstrates the power supporters have when they come together as a unified group,” said Manchester United Supporters’ Trust (MUST) chief executive Duncan Drasdo.

The Green and Gold movement boosted MUST membership numbers from 36,000 to 145,000 in two months.
