Mumbai pulling biggest sponsorship revenues in IPL

The Mumbai Indians are the biggest earners from sponsorship so far in the third Indian Premier League cricket competition, with deals worth around Rs500 million (€8 million) combined, according to Asia Sponsorship News.

The team, captained by Indian cricketing superstar Sachin Tendulkar, added four new sponsors at the start of this season – broadcaster P7, building firm Dheeraj Constructions, and financial services companies New India Assurance and United India Assurance. These deals brought in around Rs100 million (€1.6 million).

The Indians already had deals in place with Videocon, Mastercard, Adidas, Pepsi, Kingfisher, Wrigley and Pernod Ricard.

Asia Sponsorship News reports that the Indians are followed in the sponsorship revenue stakes by the Delhi Daredevils and the Kolkata Knight Riders.
