Manchester United signs five-year Malaysia sponsorship

Manchester United has signed an agreement for Telekom Malaysia to become its ‘Integrated Telecommunications Partner’ for the next five years.

United hopes the deal will help raise the club’s profile in south-east Asia. The agreement will also bring increased online content to United supporters and TM customers.

"Anyone who went on our tour of the Far East last summer knows the strength of feeling that Malaysians have for the club," said chief executive David Gill.

"Over 40,000 attended our training session and another 40,000 came to the second match in Kuala Lumpur, despite only having 48 hours' notice of the fixture."

The telecoms firm was also an official partner for United's tour of Asia in 2009.
