Group turnover rose to €50.8 million in 2009, up from €48.3 million in 2008.
Profits from Croke Park, the third largest stadium in Europe, were €21.5 million for 2009 after interest and depreciation, but before distributions. This represents a 6.8 per cent increase year-on-year.
“It’s been a very solid year. That’s not to say that there are no challenges ahead of us and we’ll need the same solid controls moving forward, but we’re in a good position,” said GAA president Christy Cooney.
Cooney added the value of events at Croke Park to the wider economy has been calculated at “half a billion euro”.
