Twenty20 cricket wins SportelAsia viewing award

Twenty20 international cricket was revealed the winner of the first ‘Asian/Pacific Sport TV Audience Award’ yesterday for drawing more than 32.2 million viewers across Australia, India and Pakistan in 2009.

The inaugural award, delivered jointly by SportelAsia and Eurodata TV Worldwide, is presented to the sport event delivering the highest ratings worldwide in 2009 across at least 3 different countries.

The other nominees were basketball’s 2009 FIBA Asia Championship and football’s 2011 AFC Asian Cup Qualification.

The award was revealed during the opening party of SportelAsia in Singapore by David Tomatis, Chief Executive Officer of Sportel, and Florent Simon, Eurodata TV Worldwide Sport Manager.
