Football bets accounted for 64 per cent of revenue in the second half of 2009, up from just over 60 per cent in the same period last year. This summer’s football World Cup could generate £30 million in wagers on Sportingbet and up to £1 million in profit, said its chief executive Andrew McIver.
Sportingbet renewed its sponsorship of Euroleague Basketball in October, in a deal that gave it live internet streaming rights for the competition. It has also streamed football matches live since 2008.
