FIFA inks Middle East retail deal

FIFA worldwide Master Licensee Global Brands Group (GBG) has signed a four-year deal that will see Saudi retailer Fawaz Alhokair and Company (JSC) operate 14 official FIFA stores in the Middle East and North Africa.

JSC pledged to open official stores in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar.

“This assignment is important for the development of the FIFA Brand and ensures that FIFA merchandise reaches as wide an audience as possible,” said Thierry Weil, FIFA marketing director.

The Saudi retailer currently operates stores for around 70 international fashion brands and has an annual turnover of two billion Saudi ryals ($534 million).
