Saudis put $1m bounty on Asian Champions League

If a Saudi Arabian team wins this year’s Asian Champions League the country’s football federation will pay it a $1 million bonus.

There are four Saudi teams in the tournament – Al Ittihad, 2004 and 2005 champions and 2009 finalists, Saudi champions Al Hilal, Al Shabab and Al Ahli.

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation is also offering $35,000 to the top scorer in the Saudi league, and $135,000 to the team with the best disciplinary record.

The Asian Champions League kicks off on February 23.
