The Associated Press reports that special glasses were given to fans in the pubs to see the 3D version of the match. David Wubelski, a 71-year-old Arsenal fan watching at the Railway Tavern in central London, said: “The close-ups are fantastic but the wide angle is not quite so impressive.”
Sky Sports director of operations Darren Long said: ''People now feel they can now sit in their own homes and view things in a way they could only do if they came to the stadium themselves.”
Previous 3D sports broadcasts have used closed circuit feeds in trials in the US and the UK. BSkyB delivered Sunday’s 3D transmission through regular satellite television boxes.
