Seventh name since ’87 for Dolphin’s stadium

NFL team the Miami Dolphins has agreed a new naming rights deal for its home stadium which gives it its seventh different name since it opened in 1987,

The New York Times reports that the stadium, which opened in 1987, will be called the Sun Life Stadium under the latest deal, with financial services company Sun Life.

Previous naming rights sponsors have included sportswear company Pro Player, and brewer Land Shark.

The Sun Life deal is only for five years, and reportedly worth around $4 million per year. Sun Life are also making an annual contribution to the Dolphins’ charity foundation.
