Eye-watering ticket prices at Dallas Cowboys

Fans of NFL team the Dallas Cowboys are paying up to $500 for seats for playoff round matches at their home stadium.

Bloomberg reports that the top ticket price is three times as much as at rivals the New England Patriots. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is walking a “tight-wire” with the prices according to Bob Tuchman, executive vice president for corporate travel at New York-based Premiere Global Sports, although he said he believes the market will bear the $500 top price for a sideline ticket at the stadium.

Tickets start at $35 for a standing place that does not ensure a view of the pitch. Other seats in the stadium cost between $99 and $239, and parking costs up to $75.

Cowboys spokesman Rich Dalrymple said there was “no danger” of the first playoff game, against the Philadelphia Eagles not selling out.

Bloomberg reports that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he had last month refinanced around $435 million in debt tied to the stadium at a fixed rate of below 5 per cent.
