Agency buys EPL rights in 15 European and Asian territories

UK-based agency AMI has secured the exclusive television and new media rights for the English Premier League for 15 territories in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

The territories covered by the deal are: Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, Georgia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Tajikistan.

AMI has distributed media rights for the Premier League in the Central and Eastern Europe region since the league’s inception in 1992. The company also distributes rights in the region for Formula One, World Rally Championship, and English FA Cup and national team football.

“We are extremely pleased to be continuing our partnership with AMI,” said Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore. “They have a proven track record in distributing the Barclays Premier League across a variety of platforms and technologies and I am sure they will continue to help develop the accessibility and reach of our rights across their territories. This will be of benefit to the many Premier League fans throughout Eastern Europe and Central Asia.”
