RWC 2011 hospitality agents chosen

Two consortiums of companies, one from Australia and one from New Zealand, have won a competitive tender process to be appointed as the Official Corporate Hospitality Agencts for the Rugby World Cup 2011.

Sales for Official Corporate Hospitality packages will go on sale from 1 February 2010.

The New Zealand consortium consists of The Eden Park Trust, Auckland Rugby Union, and the Experience Group. The Australian consortium consists of Ticketek and International Quarterback.

Mike Miller, International Rugby Board chief executive and managing director of the company that manages the World Cup, Rugby World Cup Limited, said: “Rugby World Cup is one of the top five sports events in the world and the strength of the corporate ticketing and hospitality programmes was one of the major success stories of a record-breaking RWC 2007 Tournament with combined ticket package and corporate sales exceeding 100,000, more than the 1999 and 2003 Tournaments combined.

“We are delighted that both the Official Travel Agents and Official Corporate Hospitality Agents for RWC 2011 are now confirmed. This key partnership of experienced providers under the RTH [Rugby Travel and Hospitality (NZ) Limited - the company which is managing travel and hospitality for the tournament] umbrella will ensure that supporters can look forward to unrivalled delivery for an event that is globally renowned for providing a world class Official Corporate Hospitality Programme.”
