UPS renews Chinese Hoops sponsorship package

Package delivery company UPS has renewed its sponsorship of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) League and China Men’s National Basketball Team for an additional four years.

The deal, which plays an important role in UPS’ brand-building efforts in China, will see UPS continue as Official Supplier of Logistics and Express Delivery Services until the end of 2013. All CBA league teams and the Men’s National Team will also continue to wear the UPS logo on their strips.

“The CBA League has more than 400 million TV viewers, making it the most watched sports league in China. We hope that our sponsorship can add to this appeal,” said Chris Grubb, Vice President of UPS Asia Pacific.

“Our supply chain solutions and the depth of our global network put us in the strong position of being able to extend our commitment to sports in China. With our legacy of support for sports in China, UPS looks forward to helping the CBA fulfill their vast potential and to encouraging more of China’s younger generation to play the game through additional grassroots efforts.”

The CBA was established in June in 1956 and launched the first CBA professional league in 2005.
