Morris announced as Rajasthan Royals CEO

The Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket side the Rajasthan Royals have appointed former Hampshire player Sean Morris as their new Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect.

Morris played six seasons at Hampshire in the 1990s before injury curtailed his career.

Following his retirement from professional cricket, the 41-year-old joined Dunlop Slazenger where he was responsible for establishing Slazenger as a leading UK cricket apparel brand, in part through business relationships with Indian cricket manufacturers. Morris’ CEO role will be particularly focused on development of the Rajasthan Royals brand outside of India.

“Sean represents a great addition to the outstanding existing management team. He brings a strong mix of skills, and a real enthusiasm for the IPL. His international experience and relationships afford us great scope to continue to build the brand across the world,” said Manoj Badale, Rajasthan Royals chairman.

Morris was formerly CEO of the Professional Cricketers Association (PCA).
