East Asia Games TV coverage quadruples

The MP & Silva agency has secured 20 broadcasters for the 2009 East Asian Games (EAG), four times the number that broadcast the event last time, in 2005.

The broadcasters are China Central Television (CCTV), China Sports Programs Network (CSPN), Beijing Television (BTV), Guangdong Television (GDTV), Guangzhou Television (GZTV), Shenzhen Media Group (SZMG) and China’s leading web portal, Sohu; Mongolian terrestrial networks TV5 Mongolia and TV 9; Teledifusão de Macau (TDM); Taiwan’s Public Television Service (PTS), ESPN Taiwan and ESPN Star Sports (Southeast Asia); TV Asahi in Japan; the Korean Olympic Committee (KOC) together with Korean broadcasters Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS) and Yonhap Television News (YTN); and KUAM in Guam.

The 2009 EAG takes place in Hong Kong, beginning December 5 and will feature over 3,000 athletes from China, Japan, Korea, DPR Korea, Hong Kong, Macau, Chinese Taipei, Mongolia, and Guam.
