Organiser’s believe the two-day format will “provide greater opportunity for presentations and in-depth discussion of the issues and opportunities facing the sports events sector.”
The conference tackles a range of subjects including bidding for events to economic assessment, planning, infrastructure and facility construction, personnel, media, security and volunteers.
“The conference is now established as the world’s leading forum for the sector and the 2009 event set new standards, which we are determined to exceed next year,” said Nigel Rushman of organisers Rushmans.
“Sir Craig Reedie [IOC Executive Board Member] pointed to the amount of business to be done in this sector. Sports Event Management 2010 will be the place to build contacts and provide the insight needed to take advantage of the opportunities available.”
The 2009 Sports Event Management conference was attended by hundreds of delegates and heard presentations from industry leaders including Olympic event management veteran Sandy Hollway and Paul Deighton, head of the London 2012 Organising Committee.
